With the rise in property prices in London, many Londoners are building new living spaces under their houses, as in this example, where a new floor dug out from under the house now houses a wine cellar in natural oak, a home cinema, an office and an additional bedroom.
The frame of the glazed door is made of 5mm steel, laser-cut from a solid sheet to avoid any visible signs of welding. Black was chosen to emphasize the contrast between the wall and the white floor, while the hinges have been replaced by pivots and the handle is of the invisible type to reinforce the cellar’s minimalist appearance.
